Shakespears Sister have made a surprise return to the UK Top 75 after a 14-year absence following the X Factor last night as 'Stay' has charted at No.64 this evening! Let's see if it climbs next week - would be wonderful to see Siobhan return to the Top 40! It's all gone a bit quiet on the Bananarama front but if you're missing your share of Sara and Keren feast your eyes on this rare TV performance of their cover of Andrea True Connection's 'More More More' from the 1993 'Please Yourself' album.
An underrated Nana classic... and what about the dance routine?! Check out that hip-swinging action!!!
The waiting is finally over - feast your eyes on the NEW video for 'It's A Trip' which in my opinion is absolutely sensational! This is classic Shakespears Sister yet so contemporary! Well done Siobhan and all involved!
P.S. Sorry it's been a while since the last update. With some exciting releases up and coming the updates should be more frequent from now on!
It has been announced on the official forum that the new Shakespears Sister DVD (see earlier post) will be released on 25th September 2010. It will be made available to pre-order on the official website soon! How exciting!!!

It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it And that's what gets results
It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it And that's what gets results
You can try hard don't mean a thing Take it easy and then your jive will swing
It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it And that's what gets results
I thought I was smart but I soon found out I didn't know what life was all about But then I learnt I must confess That life is like a game of chess
It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it And that's what gets results
You can try hard don't mean a thing Take it easy and then your jive will swing
It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it And that's what gets results
It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it And that's what gets results
It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it And that's what gets results (Written by Oliver/Young)
So why do I love this song so much? The raw production, the hypnotic beat, the borderline-amateur vocals, the sing-a-long chorus, the fantastic build-up to the bridge. The video is also fantastic with it's dark, moody feel and the girls' punky androgynous look. I just love everything about this era. This was the first (genius!) collaboration between the girls and the Fun Boy Three and the song that introduced an unsuspecting public to Sara, Keren and Siobhan. Little did the girls know back the impact they were to make on the '80s music scene and that nearly 30 years later they would STILL be going strong. In celebration of this song, here is the aforementioned video as well as some classic performances:
So there we have it - the countdown is over! If you've stuck with it since the beginning thank you and let me know what you think of my #1 by leaving your comments below! Stay tuned because coming soon I'll be counting down my Top 10 Shakespears Sister songs!
